Printing a QR code on a business card
A standard business card is 85 × 55 mm. Give the QR code at least 20 × 20 mm and keep a white margin around it. Fewer fields make a less dense code that prints more reliably at small sizes.
Download SVG for your printer when possible; it stays sharp at any size.
What a vCard QR code contains
The code holds a standard vCard 3.0 contact record that iPhone, Android and desktop address books all understand. Nothing is hosted online, so the card works forever and never shows ads or a landing page.
Frequently asked questions
Will the contact save on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Both open a "Create contact" screen with all the fields filled in.
Can I change my details later?
Static codes store the details inside the code, so changes need a new code. The upside is that it never expires and needs no subscription to keep working.
How small can I print it?
About 20 mm square for a full contact card. If you include many fields, print it a little larger.
